ACUPUNCTURE

Acupuncture.jpeg

Acupuncture is a traditional form of Chinese medicine, using very fine sterile needles. It is pain-free and extremely relaxing.

Acupuncture is steeped in history and increasingly supported by modern science. It is used most effectively in injury management and in the treatment of chronic pain, but can help with a wide variety of ailments. These include stress, anxiety, insomnia, headaches, migraines, fertility and menstrual problems including PMT and menopause.

My areas of specialist interest are in injury and pain management, musculoskeletal (neck, shoulder and back issues) and women's health, fertility and gynaecology. This may be from planning, through IVF and on to post-partum support - and even acupuncture for children and babies.

To get started, get in touch and we'll have a 10-minute discovery call, to see how acupuncture might help you.

INJURY MANAGEMENT
AND CHRONIC PAIN

ACUPUNCTURE FOR FERTILITY
& PREGNANCY SUPPORT

Chronic pain, whether musculoskeletal (neck, back and shoulder), or from headache and migraines, can be debilitating and reduce mobility as well as quality of daily life. Over time, untreated injuries and issues can become exacerbated, which can lead onto to other complications and pain. Acupuncture is incredibly effective for pain and injury relief and is mentioned in the UK's NICE guidelines as a solution for headaches and chronic pain relief.  Read more about chronic pain management and the NICE guidelines here.

Acupuncture can support your fertility journey, either alongside IVF treatment, or on its own, ideally from three months prior to starting IVF, through to childbirth (and beyond). Acupuncture can also help to maintain pregnancy health to reduce the risk of miscarriage, while supporting your overall health and wellbeing. It is completely safe to have acupuncture during IVF treatment and all stages of pregnancy. Read more about fertility support here and about pregnancy support here.

POSTNATAL ACUPUNCTURE TREATMENT - MOTHER WARMING

ACUPUNCTURE FOR CHILDREN AND BABIES

Although part of the natural rhythm of life, childbirth can leave new mothers exhausted and looking for support in their recovery. Acupuncture can be helpful in restoring energy and healing and is effective and safe as soon as four or five days after the birth. In addition to the immediate healing process, acupuncture can help a myriad of postnatal symptoms, from cramps, to breastfeeding and anxiety or depression. Read more about postnatal support here.

Acupuncture is safe and effective for babies from three months onwards and treatments can take as little as ten minutes. Acupuncture for children and babies follows the same process and methods as for adults, with a consultation (with the parent), considering lifestyle and general wellbeing.
